Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Research Units Program: Nebraska
Education, Research and Technical Assistance for Managing Our Natural Resources

Nebraska Research Activities

An Eastern red bat (Lasiurus borealis) held for evaluation by bat researchers. A light yellow/brownish small critter with a bat face displaying tiny fangs is held by a hand wearing black safety gloves. The bat was caught during a bat activity monitoring project near the Homestead National Monument located in Beatrice, Nebraska.

Research within NECFWRU addresses the expressed information needs of the citizens of Nebraska and the United States of America, especially to better understand natural systems and how socioecological processes are altered by disturbances and management actions.
