To aid in evaluating the proposed endangered species listing we will create a species distribution model using existing location and habitat information. The model will then be used to explore likely locations for new colonies. Because Flower’s beardtongue habitat is mostly on private and tribal lands, it is likely there are unknown colonies in the population, as little survey has occurred on these lands. On lands were permission to survey is not permitted, the model can predict the likelihood of Flower’s beardtongue colonies. With new information, the model can be refined and used to fulfill the objectives of this project.
