Georgia History


Rainbow trout are an important sportfish in Georgia.

The GA Unit began life as the GA Cooperative Fishery Research Unit in 1962. The Cooperative Wildlife Research Unit was established in 1979. Both units operated independently and with different Unit Leaders until 1984 when they were combined into the GA Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Research Unit.
