Education, Research and Technical Assistance for Managing Our Natural Resources

Alabama About Us

Cooperative Research Units have three facets to their mission: (1) Education, (2) Research, and (3) Technical Assistance. The Alabama Unit, situated at Auburn University in Auburn, AL, works closely with state, federal and university cooperators to execute that mission. Our unit staff have current research projects on large scale landscape management and decision making in the face of uncertainty posed by climate change, adaptive management of riverine fish communities in Alabama, adaptive management of horseshoe crab harvest in Delaware Bay as well as a variety of other resource management support research projects. Our work focuses on decision support tools and research and we are at the forefront of practical applications of adaptive management theory.
