Biography

Received BS degree from Lake Superior State University in 2007. Is currently pursuing a MS degree in Fisheries Biology from Humboldt State University. My research objectives of the study are to increase understanding of life history tactics and estimate apparent survival of coho during key periods in order to identify potential limits in juvenile production in the Shasta River. I am also a fanatic fisherman and fly tier as well as an artist.. I have worked with the California Department of Fish and Game since 2007 on the Shasta River, a Klamath River tributary in Siskiyou County. This is a unique and highly productive spring fed system where I have developed a monitoring program for salmonids, in particular coho salmon, using PIT tags and remote detection systems. My master's thesis includes describing coho habitat use and survival in the Shasta River. This work is to be used as a guide for ongoing restoration efforts by agencies such as The Nature Conservancy and California Trout, Inc.
