Biography

I am originally from California but have travelled extensively before my family settled in Maryland. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Wildlife Ecology from the University of Maine. While there, I developed an interest in Wetland Ecology and was lucky to obtain my Master degree under Dr. Leigh Fredrickson through the University of Missouri. The research focus for my masters was quantifying abiotic and biotic response to long term changes in the hydrology of a montane wetland system. I pursued my Ph.D. in Wildlife and Fisheries Sciences at South Dakota State University where I quantified habitat distribution and use by the Rocky Mountain Population of Sandhill Crane. Presently, I am working as a Research Associate with Dr. Sammy King with the reintroduction of Whooping Cranes into SW Louisiana.
