Biography
Dr. Ribic received graduate degrees from the University of Minnesota, was a Research Assistant Professor at the University of Washington, and was a research scientist with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in Corvallis, OR, before joining the Wisconsin Wildlife Unit in 1994. She conducts research that builds on our basic understanding of species and systems while meeting the more applied management information needs of natural resource managers. Her research interests are in wildlife ecology and conservation in context of anthropogenic influences and landscape change, in both the terrestrial and marine systems. Much of her long-term research has focused on grassland bird conservation, seabird ecology, marine plastic pollution, and general avian community structure and response to prescribed landscape management actions and to a changing climate. Dr. Ribic also works on understanding the impact of landscape level management on wildlife species in forested systems. Dr. Ribic has taught courses in quantitative ecology and natural resource management.
