Biography

Jimena Golcher-Benavides is broadly interested in freshwater fish conservation. Within this topic, Jimena is currently most interested in the reproductive biology of bigheaded carps invading the Upper Mississippi River. Dr. Golcher-Benavides recently concluded a 1-year visiting assistant professor position at Lees McRae College and for her PhD, she studied cichlid fishes endemic to Lake Tanganyika.

Areas of Expertise

Evolutionary Ecology, Fisheries Management, Invasive Species, Species Management, Statistics and Modelling

Taxon Groups Studied

Freshwater Fishes
