Biography
Maria is from Minnesota, and she grew up travelling between Duluth and her cabin in Alborn, MN. Her love of fish and wildlife was evident from a young age, and she pursued that passion at the University of Wisconsin-Superior, earning a Bachelor of Science in Aquatic Biology. A fun fact about Maria: she also earned a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance at UW-Superior and sings opera professionally. Maria worked for the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources in two different office locations, both as a fisheries intern and a student research assistant. Currently, Maria is working on her master's degree studying the influence of water temperature variation on the development, settling time, and survival of Pallid Sturgeon larvae in the Missouri River with Dr. Steven Chipps.
