Biography

My primary interests include analysis of geographic data, and automation of Geographic Information Systems analysis using the Python programming language. Another major interest is cartography, including web-accessible cartography, utilizing the Keyhole Markup Language and Google Maps. Currently, I am completing urbanization projections for the Southeast Regional Assessment Project (SERAP) using the cellular automata model SLEUTH (Slope, Landuse, Exclusion, Urbanization, Transportation and Hillshade) developed at UCSB. In addition, I am providing volunteer cartography support, both for paper maps and online mapping, for the Friends of the Mountains-to-Sea Trail.
