Occupancy and co-occurrence of invasive pigs and native armadillos

June 2021 - March 2025

Participating Agencies

We investigated spatial and temporal factors influencing detection and occupancy of wild pig and nine-banded armadillo, and then investigated interspecific interactions using a hierarchical modeling framework. Our results provide insights into the influence of a destructive invasive species (wild pig) on an ecologically important native species (nine-banded armadillo).
