Additional global information will be added as it becomes available. This vegetation association occurs at lower to middle elevations on steep, northeast- to southeast-facing slopes. Topographic positions include bench, low slope, and high slope. Soils are clay loam, sandy loam, and rock. Soil drainage is rapidly drained. This vegetation association typically occurs on large accumulations of scree on or at the base of cliffs and on old lava flow formations. This small-patch shrubland is codominated by the shrub Prunus virginiana at moderate to high cover and Symphoricarpos rotundifolius at low to high cover. Herbaceous cover is often sparse. The non-native annual grass Bromus tectorum is sometimes present at low to moderate cover.
