Other associates include Coreopsis rosea, Dichanthelium dichotomum var. dichotomum, Dichanthelium spretum, Drosera intermedia, Euthamia graminifolia, Lachnanthes caroliana, Rhexia aristosa, Vaccinium macrocarpon, Viola lanceolata, Xyris smalliana, Sphagnum spp., and occasional Saccharum giganteum. This vegetation occurs in the center of the basin and remains wet for most of the growing season. The substrate is a thin organic horizon overtopping deep sand.
