The shrub layer is open, and consists of Agave havardiana, Dasylirion leiophyllum, Nolina erumpens, and Salvia regla. The herbaceous stratum is dominated by Muhlenbergia emersleyi, but is diverse and also includes Bothriochloa barbinodis, Lycurus sp., Muhlenbergia rigida, Eragrostis sp., and Schizachyrium scoparium var. scoparium.
