This substantial wetland site occurs on a broad, relatively flat extent of Willow Creek, and is permanently flooded with very poorly drained muck soils. Water covers 55% of the ground surface with 35% cover of litter and duff. The surveyed stand encompasses a large wet area that is homogeneous in cover. It is essentially a monoculture of Carex utriculata with 80% cover. Trace amounts of Calamagrostis canadensis are present, along with scattered individuals of Dasiphora fruticosa ssp. floribunda and Salix planifolia.
