Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Research Units Program: Virginia
Education, Research and Technical Assistance for Managing Our Natural Resources

Virginia Cooperators

The Virginia Unit conducts vital research for understanding population dynamics of many bat species, including the red bat.

Our unit works closely in conjunction with our primary cooperators: the U.S. Geological Survey, Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries, and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Additionally we cooperate and collaborate with numerous other throughout the commonwealth, the region and the nation to conduct our research and to communicate our findings to appropriate end-users. Examples of these current project cooperators include the Virginia Department of Mines, North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission, the U.S. Forest Service, and the Department of Defense.
