Rubus spectabilis, Acer circinatum, and Ribes bracteosum are usually present and often prominent to codominant. The rich herb layer is usually codominated by Polystichum munitum and Oxalis oregana. Many other herbs are common, the most abundant being Tiarella trifoliata. This association occurs on the western Olympic Peninsula at low elevations and is found on toeslopes or upper riparian terraces, usually near smaller streams.
