Artemisia tridentata ssp. wyomingensis occurs in an open shrub canopy. Carex filifolia is abundant in the understory; Hesperostipa comata is well represented. Opuntia polyacantha, Astragalus purshii, Eriastrum sparsiflorum, and Phlox hoodii ssp. muscoides are common to present.
