Classification Comments: This type is described from Yakutat foreland (Shephard 1995) but was called Mixed conifer / Vaccinium spp. / Lysichiton americanum in the original classification. At the crosswalk meeting (11/15/95) this community was reclassified to Tsuga mertensiana - Tsuga heterophylla / Vaccinium spp. / Lysichiton americanus. This type also occurs in Chugach National Forest, although it is not described in a preliminary classification for Prince William Sound (DeVelice et al. 1994). It is expected to be included in a later publication dealing with this area.
