Classification Comments: Two similar but drier types, ~Pinus ponderosa - Quercus garryana / Purshia tridentata Woodland (CEGL000883)$$ and Pinus ponderosa - Quercus garryana / Bunchgrass Woodland (not in USNVC), have been described from Oregon. Since both are so rare, this association includes any type in ~Quercus garryana - Pinus ponderosa / Carex geyeri Woodland Alliance (A3327)$$) from western Oregon and Washington. This type has not been found west of the Cascades in Washington (C. Chappell, WANHP, pers. comm.).
