Type Concept: This herbaceous association is currently only described from the East Cascades of Oregon where it was sampled twice at high elevations (2000-2025 m [6560-6640 feet]) on low to moderately steep (0-5%) meadow sites. Carex spectabilis and Lupinus arcticus ssp. subalpinus are codominant on sites. Species richness is low but may include Carex nigricans, Carex scopulorum, Nothocalais alpestris, Polygonum davisiae, and Ligusticum grayi. It is also known to occur in Washington and possibly British Columbia. Additional global information will be added as it becomes available.
