Classification Comments: Examples occur at Nemours Plantation (Beaufort County, South Carolina). In Georgia, this type is closely related to ~Acer rubrum - Nyssa biflora - (Liquidambar styraciflua, Fraxinus sp.) Maritime Swamp Forest (CEGL004082)$$ and is mainly distinguished from it by existing on the mainland instead of a barrier island. The formation distinguishes the two, but it is unclear whether floristics are distinct.
