Other shrubs and small trees include Callicarpa americana and Prunus caroliniana. Woody vines include Berchemia scandens, Parthenocissus quinquefolia, Toxicodendron radicans, and Nekemias arborea. Chasmanthium sessiliflorum is the dominant herb. Other herbs are Oplismenus hirtellus ssp. setarius, Carex cherokeensis, Verbesina virginica, Ageratina aromatica, Asplenium platyneuron var. platyneuron, Geum canadense, and Polygonum virginianum. Tillandsia usneoides and Pleopeltis polypodioides ssp. michauxiana are common epiphytes.
