It is described from Lee''s Branch Swamp, Woodford County, Kentucky. The forest consists of "almost a pure stand of Fraxinus with some stands of Quercus bicolor mixed in. There are a few sycamores scattered within. There is no Acer rubrum or Quercus palustris there" (M. Evans pers. comm.). Herbs are few and include Carex lupulina, Leersia oryzoides, and Ranunculus longirostris.
