Growing up on Lake of the Woods I became enamored with fisheries and fish biology. I have a B.S. degree in general biology, an M.S. in Natural Resources where I used conservation genetics to help delineate stocks of lake whitefish for the Lake Michigan commercial fishery. After that I went on to obtain my Ph.D. in Wildlife and Fisheries Sciences at South Dakota State University where my research focused on fish community ecology. I also worked as a post-doctoral fisheries scientist at South Dakota State University assessing mountain sucker genetic diversity in the Black Hills and yellow perch dynamics, early life history and genetic structure across the state of South Dakota. I am a broadly trained, applied, fisheries ecologist which helps me in my current position as Fish Propagation Science Specialist.. Fisheries ecology, management and propagation. My goal is to use modern and novel techniques to address fisheries propagation and management related questions. .
