Dr. Jennie Miller
Biography
Jennie is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Fuller lab, jointly appointed through Cornell DNR and Panthera, and specializes in human-wildlife interactions and large carnivore conservation. She completed her PhD in 2015 from the Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Studies, where she researched the spatial patterns and human perceptions of tiger and leopard attacks on livestock in India. As a postdoc, Jennie is studying the metrics and logistics for implementing an age-based quota system for more sustainable trophy hunting of lions in southern Africa. She is also investigating spatial interactions and food web dynamics between lions, leopards and other African carnivores. When not in the office, Jennie recharges by hiking the Ithaca gorges, acrylic painting, wildlife-watching and traveling internationally.
