The study focused on understanding the ecology of red-shouldered hawks (Buteo lineatus) near the southern extent of their breeding range and included aspects of nesting habitat selection, annual habitat selection patterns, and reproductive potential and success between February 2005 and July 2009 on the Rob and Bessie Welder Wildlife Refuge in San Patricio County Texas and the Twin Oaks Hunting Resort in Refugio County Texas.
