  • USFWS Region 1

We summarized and synthesized data on natural history, population viability, status, threats, habitat requirements, and geographic distribution for Laysan and black-footed albatross. These results will be used to guide the USFWS as they decide whether to list these species under the U.S. Endangered Species Act. Our recommendations will also be the basis for conservation actions taken by the USFWS and other management agencies. The population modeling we did was novel, and our assessment of North Pacific bycatch is the first of its kind
