Long-term stream monitoring stations are useful in determining temporal changes in stream health. This study examined several stream sites in West Virginia for potential use as long-term monitoring stations. The sites were located on streams of high water quality, and stream health indices were estimated based on fish species, macroinvertebrate species, and water quality. This study assisted the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources in the development of long-term stream monitoring efforts.
