Education, Research and Technical Assistance for Managing Our Natural Resources

Summersville Reservoir is an important walleye fishery within West Virginia. The West Virginia Division of Natural Resources manages the fishery, and information is needed on walleye catch rates and angler attitudes. This study focused on estimating catch and harvest rates of walleyes with the use of angler and creel survey data. Also, angler surveys provided information on angler attitudes toward the fishery.
