The Tombigbee darter Etheostoma lachneri is a small benthic darter distributed throughout the Tombigbee drainage in Mississippi, including tributaries like the Noxubee River, Sucarnoochee River, Buttahatchee River, and Town Creek (Ross and Brenneman 2001). Complete 26 days of surveying to assess the presence/absence and relative abundance of Tombigbee darter (Etheostoma lachneri) in northeast Mississippi. This research is a collaborative effort among the USGS North Carolina Cooperative Fish & Wildlife Research Unit and North Carolina State University, Mississippi State University, US Fish and Wildlife Service, and Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks. The data generated by this project will be used to assess species status and current range in Mississippi.
