Evaluation of an expert-based landscape suitability model for King rails in the Upper Mississippi River and Great Lakes Joint Venture Region

The three primary objectives are for evaluating the JV King Rail model are: 1) determine the value of an expert-based approach to landscape assessment for the species, 2) collect actual population and habitat data which will be used to build a better model, and 3) provide better distribution information for this species and other secretive marsh birds sampled while evaluating the model.
