King Rails (Rallus elegans) are a migratory species of secretive marsh bird (rails, bitterns, grebes, gallinules) and are listed as endangered or threatened in 12 U.S. states as well as Canada and basic information on King Rail ecology is limited, including knowledge of their habitat requirements throughout the full annual life cycle. The objective of this project is to we identify suitable King Rail habitat distribution throughout the Mississippi Alluvial Valley, which can assist resource managers in identifying critical areas for management actions or restoration that could benefit King Rails populations
