Color aerial photography was collected, in stereo with 60 percent forward overlap and 40 percent side overlap, between 7-10-02 and 7-11-02. The flight height was 20,000' above mean terrain. Airborne GPS was collected with a base station at the Driggs, ID Airport (Latitude: 43 44 16.43276; Longitude:-111 06 20.33612; Height:1854.030 m; Antenna ht:2.055 m). Two sets of color contact prints were made, and the film scanned at 21 microns for a 1 meter pixel resolution. The scanned photography was bridged at Horizons Inc. Rapid City, SD. Final adjustment of the photography was solved using Erio Technologies ALBANY software. USGS National Elevation Dataset (NED) was used as DEM to create digital orthophotography. Digital and hard copy plots of the project area were delivered.

The Orthophotography from Horizon's was compressed into a mosaic using MrSid software by the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation's Remote Sensing and GIS Group. A compression ration of 20x was used to create this image. The reprojection of the mosaic from UTM NAD27 Zone 12 Meters to UTM NAD83 Zone 12 Meters was preformed in ERDAS Imagine Software using a NADCON conversion.
<purpose>The aerial photography will be used for detailed vegetation mapping. Additional stereo color photography at 1:12000 was also taking during this project.</purpose>

<attraccr>Orthophotos were created from the aerial photography using USGS Class 2 DEM data and photo triangulation data. No IMU data were collected for this aerial photography. The X, Y, Z, omega, phi, and kappa for each photograph were calculated by Horizons Inc. The Z-Bias was solved using Quad vertical points. Airborne GPS was collected during the photography missionfor each exposure station. The GPS event is at the photo-center of each exposure. The final adjustment of this block was solved using Erio Technologies ALBANY software. ALBANY is a simultaneous least squares bundle adjustment, which is designed for use with airborne GPS.</attraccr>

Both the base and emulsion sides of the film were cleaned using a tacky roller system prior to scanning. Color adjustment was achieved by visually matching the tone, contrast, and brightness to the original film. Each scanned image was checked computationally for missing data. Quality Control Procedures for orthophoto production: After individual orthophotos were mosaiced into a regional database, the resulting orthophoto composite was visually inspected for tone balance and image distortion. In areas of image distortion, more suitable orthophoto imagery was inserted, when possible. Digitized shoreline and breakline vectors were superimposed on the orthphoto mosaic and visually inspected for accuracy and consistency.</procdesc>
