        <horizpar>Overall positional accuracy of 3.25 meters RMSE.
Horizontal accuracy was assessed on the basis of 21 field survey points distributed throughout the image and collected by Kathy Mellander.  The actual field coordinates for these points were recorded with a Trimble ProXRS GPS unit with real-time differential correction with a minimum of 120 (180 unless field conditions were poor) fixes per point.  The field coordinates were then compared to the image mosaic coordinates for these points, determined in ESRI ArcMap.</horizpar>

        <procdesc>The photos (27 total) were used to create an orthorectified mosaic using ER Mapper 6.4 and Erdas Imagine 8.7. The photos were scanned at 600 dpi and imported into Imagine. The individual DOQQs were mosaiced to create a single file for use as ground control. The images were orthorectified in ERDAS Imagine software using the DOQQs and the DEM as ground control. The orthorectified images were then sent to North Carolina State University to be mosaicked into a single seamless basemap using ER Mapper. The final seamless mosaic was compressed using Mr. SID software at a 1:20 target compression ratio.</procdesc>
