To show the Curecanti National Recreation boundary. The intended use of all data in the park's GIS libaries is to support diverse park activities including planning, management, maintenance, research, and interpretation. Three reservoirs, named for corresponding dams on the Gunnison River, form the heart of Curecanti National Recreation Area. Panoramic mesas, fjord-like reservoirs, and deep, steep and narrow canyons abound. Blue Mesa Reservoir is Colorado's largest body of water, and is the largest Kokanee Salmon fishery in the United States. Morrow Point Reservoir is the beginning of the Black Canyon of the Gunnison and below, Crystal Reservoir is the site of the Gunnison Diversion Tunnel, a National Historic Civil Engineering Landmark. When attributes cannot be visually verified on plots they are interactively queried and verified on screen. In addition, the attributes are compared against a master set of valid attributes. There are no duplicate features, but coincident lines are maintained between data layers where appropriate. Polygonal features begin and end at the same point, contain no overshoots or undershoots, and contain a single label.
